12 Months of NectarShare Impact

It’s been exactly a year since we relaunched our adopt-a-hive program and NectarShare began, and what a year it’s been!

This program pays real beekeepers in Virginia fair wages to keep bees professionally – something notoriously hard to afford under traditional business models. We are a small, woman-owned business with the intention of improving our world. We want to help pollinators, educate the public, and help our friends in our community who are doing great work. Thanks to your support – we have really made a large step towards that goal. So far this year, NectarShare was responsible for:

15 Beehives Containing about 1 million bees

Nearly 300 customers – gaining education about pollinators

$1,650 donated to our non-profit partners.

20,000 sq ft worth of seed for pollinators distributed.

3 professional beekeepers – real people – supported in-part by this program.

75 Lbs of honey donated, 175 Lbs of honey distributed across the country.

Over 200 hours of labor taking care of hives at and for non-profit locations.
